From a Classroom Desk to Running the District

What we actually thought about this one

Dr. Cascone runs our district, so this one was personal and slightly nerve racking. He was open about the parts of the job that are just conflict management, and about how a superintendent spends more time on budgets and buildings than on teaching. What we appreciated was that he didn't talk down to us. He explained why decisions students complain about get made, including a few we've complained about ourselves. We didn't agree with everything, and he was fine with that. Getting an honest conversation with someone who runs the place you attend every day is rare.
